If you’ve been considering the idea of threadlifting to rejuvenate your face without surgery, there is some very important information.
The regulations in the UK have just changed so that medical practitioners wishing to offer these treatments MUST be registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission).
Mulberry House Clinic and Laser Centre was previously registered with CQC, and we continue to uphold the standards required for this.
However we are not required to be registered for our existing treatments, and to do so solely in order to be able to offer threadlifts would be disproportionate – the numbers of people we see who are really suitable for a threadlift is very small, and in our view the potential benefit from threadlifts is quite minor.
No More Thread Lifts…
Mulberry House Clinic therefore no longer offer thread lifts at our Northamptonshire clinic.
Yet it is not all about registration, there is another perhaps even more important aspect to this.
In our opinion, thread lifts are most often not the most beneficial option for achieving the desired result. They can be expensive, look a little ‘odd’ in the short term and generally not provide such a good result as can be achieved using other treatments.
Dr John Tanqueray explains:
“Over recent years we have met a good number of people who have had the procedure done elsewhere but have felt very disappointed with the effect they have seen (not to mention the money they had spent), and we have a strong feeling that thread treatments are being over-promoted and often being used in people who are unlikely to achieve a satisfactory result.
“The conclusion we came to some time ago is that for a small number of people threadlifting can be effective, but will generally cost twice as much as an equivalent result achieved with dermal filler.”
Non-Surgical Facelift
The non-surgical ‘liquid facelift’ has become a very popular option at Mulberry House Clinic and offers an excellent solution for clients who want a rejuvenating ‘lift’ for their facial features.
Results are natural looking and the procedure is very safe with an instant impact and minimal if any recovery implications. It is cheaper than a thread lift, but generally looks more natural and refreshing too.

- Medical practitioners must be registered with the CQC. See www.cqc.org.uk to check the register
- If you practitioner is NOT medically qualified, then there is no restriction on them offering thread lifts. However, we would consider that this sort of procedure is medical in nature and therefore safer in a qualified practitioner’s hands
