Juvéderm® Fillers

juvedermDr Tanqueray at Mulberry House Clinic uses the Juvéderm® range of fillers.

Juvéderm® products are based on hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance which creates volume by retaining water. Juvéderm® is particularly popular among patients due to the inclusion of a small amount of local anaesthetic.

This makes the procedure comfortable and pain-free for even the most sensitive patients.

Juvéderm® at Mulberry House

Use of dermal fillers is as much an art form as a science. At Mulberry House, all cosmetic injections are carried out personally by Dr Tanqueray. There is a particular emphasis on natural looking results.

Dr Tanqueray works closely with Allergan and has been selected as an approved trainer for Juvéderm® Ultra®, Juvéderm® Voluma® as well as BOTOX®. This means that he has also been very involved in training other medical professionals wishing to learn the latest skills for cosmetic treatments.

Juvéderm® Range

The range of fillers available at Mulberry House Clinic includes the latest options:

Uses the power of hyaluronic acid to attract and hold moisture within the skin to restore a healthy natural glow and deliver smoother, softer and more toned skin.

The product also features an antioxidising agent, helping to prevent the build-up of free radicals in the skin, so the effects of your treatment can be prolonged.

As well as the face, difficult areas such as the hands, neck and décolletage may also be treated.

This product offers can be used where a little more volume is needed for example, to smooth out deeper facial lines and creases such as the nose to mouth folds.

It can also be used to add volume to skin depressions or to contour the face.

Can also be used to enhance lip contours and volume.

A deeper filler, Juvéderm®  4 is chosen for adding larger areas or depth of volume, such as deeper folds and wrinkles.

It can also be used for contouring the cheeks or chin by adding additional volume.

Launched in January 2010, based on the Juvéderm® ULTRA 3 product, Ultra Smile was designed specifically for use in the lips.

VOLUMA is a newer member of the Juvéderm® family and its advantages have had a major impact on the way we approach treatment. The revolutionary injectable product is intended to restore the volume that can be lost with age, shaping and contouring the face for a more youthful look by adding volume and fullness. It provides maximum lift with minimum volume of product and its flexibility means that any area of the face can be treated.

Dr Tanqueray shares the best techniques  for VOLUMA with other health professionals in dermal fillers training.

Aftercare Advice

Dermal fillers are a very well-tolerated procedure and most patients resume normal activities straight away.

Some people will have bumps or marks from the injection points. These tend to go away very quickly. Avoid bruising by avoiding the sun, alcohol, intense heat and exercise as outlined below. If you do develop a bruise it will disappear in a few days like any other bruise. Redness may last up to a couple of days but rarely longer and this can be disguised with make up.

Some patients will experience localised discomfort, swelling, itching, or redness at the site of injection similar to most other injections. Again, this will usually pass.

Patients with any concerns are invited to contact the clinic for advice.

Excessive heat may cause the blood vessels to dilate and cause bleeding and bruising; so avoid saunas, hot showers, the hot sun or cooking over a hot stove.

Equally, strenuous exercise should be avoided for 48 hours as it can raise your blood pressure and cause bruising/swelling.

It is always advisable to avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time, but this is especially important after having fillers.

Avoid the sun as much as possible and wear high SPF sunblock to protect the skin.

Alcohol can cause the blood vessels to dilate and cause more bruising, so refrain from drinking alcohol for 24 hours after treatment.

Patients should avoid aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginger, Ginko, Bilboa, Ginseng and Garlic for 2 weeks after the procedure since this may increase the risk of bruising.

You may apply make-up straight after the procedure and any redness at the injection sites can normally be disguised with concealer and powder. Don’t forget a sun block beneath any foundation.
