8-Point FaceLift

From 8-Points to the Multi-Point Facelift

The 8-point facelift is a method for treating the lower two-thirds of the face, and was first offered by Dr John Tanqueray as long ago as 2012.

While it can still be useful when we are trying to achieve a result with minimal quantity of filler, better results can be obtained by using the Multi-Point Face Lift, which is a more sophisticated approach allowing a more complete treatment of the whole face.

About the 8-Point Facelift

Facial Rejuvenation Without Surgery

The 8-point facelift represents a comprehensive, non-invasive rejuvenation programme. It is a technique for creating a lifting effect using the smallest amount of dermal filler material.

The concept of restoring volume and structure in the face to give the skin the support it needs is now very well-established – the days of just filling lines and creases should be long gone. Better understanding of the compartments of the face and the patterns of volume loss has meant that our ability to rejuvenate and beautify the face has become much more sophisticated.

What are the 8 Points?

FAQ – Questions & Answers

The “8-point facelift” is ideal for patients who have a little skin laxity.

If you are over the age of 35 it is almost certain that you would see a benefit with this. Often a very subtle treatment can have a striking effect and in addition, it will help keep your skin in good condition for the longer term. If there is more severe laxity then a good result is still achievable but more filler material and a different technique may be required for best results.

Yes, the 8-point facelift with Dr John Tanqueray is a very natural-looking procedure which is flattering, not fake. Patients look fresh and feel attractive. There is no need for any concern about puffy or frozen features.

The 8-point facelift is the most cost-effective method we have found for delivering results with a minimal use of injectable product. The skill is in knowing where and how to place the injections in order to influence the facial structure.

We use the latest Juvederm Vycross products, which are long-lasting and soft in use. These products contain hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring component in the skin. Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water to provide hydration, structure and volume.

The 8 point facelift involves injecting of dermal filler to a specific sequence of targets areas of the mid-face. The result is to lift, contour and revitalise the whole mid and lower face.

The 8 precise injection areas are described as follows:

  1. Over lateral zygoma (upper/outer cheekbone – the junction between the cheek and the temple)
  2. Over junction of maxilla and zygoma (cheekbone)
  3. Malar fat pad (within the cheek/mid face)
  4. Canine fossa (nasolabial folds)
  5. Point of support for oral commissure (marionette lines/mouth corners)
  6. Pre-jowl sulcus (hollow along jawline)
  7. Angle of the mandible (jawline)
  8. Sub-zygomatic hollow (lower cheek hollows)

This provides a comprehensive lift and rejuvenation effect.

As the 8-point facelift uses facial filler injections, the effects are immediate. Patients are always surprised just how much difference a few tiny injections can make.

Dermal fillers are generally considered a safe and effective medical aesthetic treatment with very low risk of any complications.

Using top brand modern fillers means that most of the time there are minimal or no after-effects. A little short term swelling or bruising is possible and the pin pricks where the injections are placed may show, but there are very short term effects which are easily disguised with makeup.

Any discomfort is minimal. The new generation of dermal fillers contain numbing properties which makes the procedure almost painless.

All injections are carried out by Dr John Tanqueray, who has extensive experience of non-surgical treatments and was one of the first practitioners to offer the 8-point facelift in the UK.

We don’t recommend any cosmetic injection treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
