Your First Consultation

This page has been written especially for new patients, to help you understand what to expect at your first consultation and how to get the most out of it.

We appreciate that you may have been contemplating treatment for some time and this can feel like a big step.

Your first consultation is an ideal opportunity to find out what options you may have and to check that you would feel comfortable being treated by us. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have, and in addition it can be helpful for us to e-mail you a full summary of our suggested treatment plan so that you have all the information without having to remember everything.

If there are alternatives to treatments we offer in the clinic we will advise you of this and we can usually recommend someone if this is the case.

The opportunity to have expert advice is valuable and hence there is a £50 consultation fee for this service.

However should you go on to have treatment with us in the following 3 months this is redeemable against the cost of your treatment.

The Consultation Process

  1. During the consultation we will want to understand as fully as we can your reasons for visiting us and what you would like to achieve. We need to know your medical history and any regular medications you may be taking.
  2. As well as an examination of your skin and facial features photographs viewed on screen can be a very helpful focus for a discussion of the issues we wish to address. Of course photographs will only be taken with your consent and are solely for your/our use within the consultation.
  3. As well as listening carefully to your concerns Dr Tanqueray is likely to make his own recommendations as to treatments that are likely to benefit you most – it is important that any treatment fits well with the overall balance of the face, and often a minor adjustment in a certain area can make a great difference.

Patient Information Questionnaire

We have designed a simple pre-consultation form that will help us to understand what you are looking for from treatment and show you the full range of available options we can offer.

You might like to print this, complete it and bring it with you, or you can simply have a look at it before your appointment and complete it at the clinic. If you have any photos of yourself from a few years ago please bring them – they can add useful insights to how we might best treat you.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Consultation

  • Use your consultation as a fact-finding mission
  • Have a think about any questions you may have in advance and don’t be afraid to ask
  • Bring a list if you wish, to make sure you don’t forget anything

In order to make a decision with confidence you need to be free from any pressure.

  • Come for the consultation with no plans to have treatment there and then
  • Simply focus on what you need to know without worrying about making a decision

Patient Reviews

These comments were relayed to us via a patient satisfaction survey:

I could find no fault. I had been to a different clinic prior for a consultation and the experience was not personal and they told me what I “needed” and yet I was still unclear as to the cost when I left. The experience at Mulberry was personal, friendly and informative and the treatment made a difference, which is why I would recommend Mulberry clinic and why I will be booking further appointments!

The consultation was brilliant and it was all done without any fuss or bother.

It is really all about trust. I know I will get honest advice with all options fully explained. Consultation is never rushed and Dr T listens properly to any concerns or misgivings. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the clinic.
