Facial veins, also known as thread veins, broken capillaries or spider veins; are most often caused by sun exposure, although other factors such as our genes also play a part.
Medically known as telangiectasia, the superficial red, blue or purple lines appear when the vein dilates and become large enough to be visible through the skin. They can be classed as linear, branching or spider telangiectasia depending on their appearance.
There is no doubt in our minds that our laser offers the best treatment option for this condition. We commonly see people who have tried other treatments and found them painful or ineffective.
The laser light is absorbed by the blood inside the vein, which heats up the wall of the vein which breaks down so that the vein dissolves.
Results are usually seen immediately and clients commonly comment that they wish they had had laser treatment years before.
Both Laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) are used for facial veins.
Laser can be focused to suit the size of the vein being treated; the size of the IPL pulse is much larger and cannot be adjusted.
