‘Nose Fillers’ – Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

non-surgical nose job‘Nose fillers’ is a term that describes a non-surgical nose job, also known as liquid rhinoplasty.

Whatever term you call it, there’s a lot to be said for reshaping the nose without the need for surgery and this procedure has become more commonplace as patients realise that it offers a safe and cost-effective option for improving one of their most prominent facial features.

According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, surgical rhinoplasty is consistently in the UK’s top 10 cosmetic surgery procedures, as so many people dislike the shape of their nose.

Yet the non-surgical nose job offers an alternative that is very attractive.

Doctors use advanced dermal fillers to add volume to the soft tissue and reshape the nose. The procedure encompasses correcting deformities as well as blending out humps or hollows for a straighter profile. It can also improve symmetry to make the shape of the nose more even.

Non-Surgical Nose Reshaping

In technical terms, the upper part of the nose is formed by bony skeleton, while the middle and lower section are made up of nasal septum and cartilages. The lower third is entirely comprised of septum and cartilages and is known as the nasal tip. While a surgical rhinoplasty tends to focus on removal of protruding or asymmetrical bone, the non-surgical rhinoplasty uses dermal fillers to add to the existing shape of the nose in order to improve its overall shape. While a surgical nose job can make a nose physically smaller by reducing the bone and cartilage, the non-surgical approach will make it larger; although by improving the shape, it won’t necessarily appear so.

Even though the results are not permanent, there are some real advantages to consider:

  • Adding volume to soft tissues can give a soft and natural result
  • Little to no downtime
  • Considerably lower risk of complications
  • More affordable than surgery
  • Ideal for adjusting/improving post-surgical results
  • Procedure is not permanent and can be reversed if required (rhinoplasty surgery is irreversible)

What Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Improve?

The non-surgical nose job can offer significant improvements to the profile and appearance of the nose. The procedure is adapted to suit the individual, but issues that can be corrected include:

  • before and after non-surgical nose jobHollows and dips in the nose profile
  • Bumps and raised areas
  • Nose tip shape and projection
  • Narrow nose
  • Asymmetrical nose
  • Balance within the overall facial profile
  • Aesthetic damage caused by trauma/accident

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is purely a cosmetic procedure, so it cannot address functional issues like breathing or snoring. However, the majority of patients just want to look better and feel more confident about the shape and size of their nose. For these patients, a non-surgical route is a very attractive alternative to surgery.
