Dermal Fillers Could Help You Look Less Tired

Facial-AgeingDermal fillers are best known as an anti-ageing or beauty-enhancing facial treatment which works to add volume, but advanced applications of dermal fillers can be very much more sophisticated. One such use is to make you look less tired.

Many clients complain that they find the ageing process makes them look tired all the time and they want to look more awake and alert.

As the skin ages, it tends to become looser, lacking volume. When this happens in the eye area, the result can be quite dramatic, as the skin in the area is delicate and almost translucent. Eyebags, hollows and dark circles can develop. Eyebrows seem to sit a bit lower and creases and lines are more obvious.

External appearances are important to how others perceive you and patients find that people ask if they’re feeling OK, as their appearance can look fatigued, downhearted, sad or angry due to the effects of ageing and gravity.

Dermal Fillers For Tired Eyes

Dermal fillers are designed to replenish lost volume in the skin and can be used in the eye area to boost soft tissue volume, helping to smooth out dark circles and hollows.

Skilled doctors can also use dermal fillers more strategically by injecting at certain points in order to create a ‘lift’ for an instantly younger look. This is a localised version of the 8-point facelift or multi-point facelift, which focuses specifically and exclusively on the eye area.

Other Surgery-Free Eye Rejuvenation Treatments

There are now more non-surgical treatments on offer that can effectively rejuvenate and even ‘lift’ the eye area.

Tixel® Thermal Fractional Rejuvenation

Tixel® uses controlled blasts of pure heat through a series of tiny pins in order to stimulate the skin tissue regeneration, resulting in collagen production and skin tightening. The non-ablative treatment is less aggressive so suitable for delicate eye tissues, yet can produce noticeable rejuvenation results.

Which Treatment?

The choice as to which treatment is most appropriate varies on a number of criteria. Firstly, each patient has different patterns in terms of ageing and what suits one may not be the best for another. Lifestyle factors such as smoking and sun exposure also affect the condition of the skin and how it ages. Expectations and age are also considerations, plus how much ‘downtime’ the patient is able to accommodate in terms of recovery after treatment.

Dr John Tanqueray will always give the best advice, even if that is a referral elsewhere. He explains:

“In the end the best thing would be to come for a consultation and we can go through your options in more detail.”

For clients who have significant fullness, severe eye bags and high expectations for results, it may be that surgery is the recommended course of action. We can advise on this during your consultation.

However, the benefits of the non-surgical approach include greater safety, lower cost and shorter downtime/recovery implications; which is appealing and preferable for many clients.
