Much to the amusement of his family Dr John Tanqueray has been ‘talked into’ appearing in the Strictly Northampton local extravaganza in Derngate towards the end of the year.
If you would like an opportunity to support/laugh/help a local charity (Cynthia Spencer Hospice) then please come along – it is the only occasion John is likely to be seen in sequins (that he’ll admit to at least!).
John who owns the Mulberry House Clinic, with his nurse wife, Liz, is hoping the whole Strictly Northampton experience will enable him to shake a few moves on the dance floor at his daughter’s wedding next year. The 54-year-old father-of-three said:
“I’ve agreed to take part for my sins. I cannot dance or anything.”
“I went along to the launch at Aspers recently and it was nice to interact with everyone and we were taught a little bit of the waltz and jive.”
One of the reasons Dr Tanqueray agreed to take part was because he is known in his family for not being able to dance.
“I’d like to be able to impress my wife with my dancing as it’s something she’s always wanted to do and she and my daughters love watching Strictly on the television.” he added.
John’s experience starts in earnest with rehearsals starting later this month, so you’ll hear more about how this is going next time!
Matching Donations
The Mulberry House Clinic in Hardingstone have announced that they will match every penny raised by Dr John Tanqueray in this year’s Strictly Northampton Event at the Derngate on Saturday 21st November, up to a maximum of £3,000.
A spokesperson for the clinic commented:
“Having worked briefly at Cynthia Spencer back in the 1980’s John is well aware of the great work that they do, and we are very happy to be helping to raise funds for this very important local cause.”
