Cosmeceutical Skin Care to Grow 6.7%

ZO skin health rangeThe cosmeceutical skin care industry is predicted to grow by 6.7% annually, following a decade of strong growth, making it one of the most exciting sectors in skin care.

The statistic comes from a report by IBISWorld, who expect Cosmeceutical Skincare Production industry revenue to grow another 6.7% to $5.5 billion. This growth is fuelled by key factors such as a fast pace of product innovation and ageing baby boomers entering the market for anti-ageing product regimes.

Jocelyn Phillips, Industry Analyst at IBISWorld, explains:

“The United States’ ageing population is a significant factor behind the success of cosmeceuticals.”

“Baby boomers, the country’s largest demographic, are past the age of 50 and represent a key market for the industry’s players. Over the five years to 2014, the size of this population has grown at an average annual rate of 2.3% reaching an expected 109m people by the end of 2014.

Even in the wake of the recession, when consumer demand for discretionary products tended to soften in many sectors, the cosmeceutical skincare industry experienced double-digit growth throughout 2010 and 2011. Now that economic confidence is growing again and the numbers of ‘baby boomers’ seeking to retain youthful looks continues to expand, there is even more optimism for the market.

However, the development of new products is also a key factor to be considered. Manufacturers such as ZO Skin Health (Dr Zein Obagi) invest in developing skincare products that offer visible results in tackling issues such as pigmentation, wrinkles and acne.

Give Yourself 6 Weeks…

Mulberry House Clinic introduced ZO Skin Health to their clinic in 2015. They have seen remarkable results and suggest clients try the ZO Health protocol for themselves.

It can take up to 5 months to see the full benefits as the skin adapts to new routines and products, but Mulberry House Clinic are confident that patients should see a difference in an initial 6-week programme of ZO skincare, so that they can see the results, and then decide if they want to continue to benefit from for the rest of your life.

Using Dr Obagi’s comprehensive skincare principles and specialist products can significantly improve and often stop progression of a range of difficult conditions such as acne, rosacea, aging and sun damage.
