Thread Lift Procedure
59 year old former EastEnder Gillian Taylforth has publicly announced her decision to have a non-surgical facelift to tackle the signs of facial ageing.
The Silhouette Soft® Facelift is a non-invasive option which can not only improve lines and wrinkles, but also through the lifting effect improve general sagginess, loss of volume, jawline and jowls. The result is natural and enhancing, without requiring major surgery or recovery, making it a good choice for somebody who is so much in the public eye.
Gillian, who has also appeared in Loose Women, Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity Big Brother and most recently Hollyoaks, explained her decision:
“As I approach my 60th birthday and HD TV improves I am aware that my appearance is scrutinised on television and in the press.”
“I’m keen to age appropriately, but I want to look good for my age too.”
“However, as an actress it is vital that I have an expressive face – on the small screen it is often the smallest gestures which convey our inner emotions – and in fact on my most recent production, the producers would often caution younger actresses about treatments which prevented their faces from moving.”
She is not the first to undergo a procedure in order to compete for TV roles.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale actress Claire King has previously admitted having a similar procedure which was shown on Sky Living’s ‘Stitch me, lift me’ in 2013.
“I had something called the “one-stitch lift” on my face”
“I did notice the difference and I immediately got the roles I went for. I’m not sure how much of it was coincidence, but then it’s just the shallow, superficial world we live in. I don’t know if I’ll ever do anything else – I’ll just see how bad I look in a few years’ time!”
The Silhouette Facelift is a non-surgical option which achieves a lift and rejuvenation effect that lasts for around 18 months.
The procedure uses dissolvable threads which are placed beneath the surface of the skin where they are positioned in order to create a lifting effect, smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
The specially designed Silhouette threads are made of polylactic acid, which then works within the deeper layers of the skin to boost the body’s natural production of collagen for up to 18 months, creating a firmer and tighter skin texture.
The threads eventually dissolve and effects can be expected to last around 18 months, at which point the procedure can be completed.
As the Silhouette Facelift is adjustable, the exact effect and technique are customised to each individual patient in order to suit their face shape, ageing issues and personal requirements.
